Welcome to Mimosa Elementary PTA!
We are super thrilled about the upcoming school year and hope that as you are getting your child ready for school, you are thinking about how you would like to become a part of the PTA.
Programs
Mimosa Elementary's PTA organization does so much for the school and the kids and most of it is behind the scenes. Some of the things the PTA has helped with in the past involve:
- Grants to teachers for special projects
- In school and out of school field trips for the students
- Monthly Sunshine Birthday cake for students having birthdays
- Stocking the school clinic for child emergencies of all types
- The school store
- Teacher Appreciation throughout the school year
- Spirit Wear
- 5th grade T-shirts
- Red Ribbon week
- Fall Fun Run
- Spring Fling
- Class parties
- ...and much more
Membership
Our goal for 2009 - 2010 is 342 members which is 5% increase over last year's total membership of 325. At the end of Open House we have 61 paid members of PTA for the year. We also get awards if we reach certain membership goals throughout the year. Please help us reach those goals by signing up today! If you missed the opportunity to sign up early at Open House, please email membership@mimosaespta.org for more information. We will also have a table during Curriculum Night on August 27th with sign up opportunities for both membership and volunteering.
Volunteering
There are a wealth of volunteering opportunities available each year and this year we are announcing our Three for Me program. This program encourages parent involvement by requesting only 3 hours of volunteering per child per school year. We will have sign up information at Curriculum Night as well. New Tools
Our website is new as well and parts are still under construction. Please be patient with us as we grow our organization with your help! For more information or to make suggestions for information that you'd like to see here, please email info@mimosaespta.org.
Also, we are beginning a new PTA Networking site using software provided by National PTA called OMDR+ which is hosted by Just Between Friends. Please sign up to be a part of this, as it will provide email alerts for announcements, events and notices for various groups such as specific teacher class room, entire grades or a small group such as the Band or Art Club.
