Mimosa's Dad's Initiative Committee

This is a new committee for Mimosa Elementary School, but we felt it was important enough to kick off this year.

The purpose of the Dad's Initiative Committee is to encourage, strengthen and support the efforts of fathers' involvement in the education of their children.  It is our ultimate goal to provide opportunities to fathers to not only become more engaged in the education of their children, but to also offer fathers an opportunity to become more involved with other fathers who are facing, or have faced, similar situations and stereotypes commonly held within the greater community.

Nationally, the Dad's Initiative Committee is involved with All Pro Dads, a non-profit organization supported by the National Football League (NFL).  This program supports opportunities for fathers, particularly, to bond with their children utilizing sports figures and other significant community leaders to share their unique stories of success. 

What Cool Daddios could do at Mimosa:

• Muffins with Dad
• Career Day
• Lunch Bunch
• "Dad's Favorite Book Day"

What Cool Daddios could do in the community and at home:

• Read to your child
• Get involved in activities like scouts with your child
• Make a Healthy Lifestyles dinner together
• Take a nature walk together

The Committee is currently not formed so we are looking for a few good men to step in and take charge of this initiative for Mimosa Elementary School.  If you wish to join this committee in any capacity, please email cooldaddios@mimosaespta.org and mention "Committee" in the subject line.
