Fundraising Committee
The Fundraising Committee is an integral part of how we are able to do the programs we provide for the children and community of Mimosa Elementary School. This committee organizes and administers the fundraisers that have been chosen for the school by the Executive Committee and Board of Directors.
This year, the National PTA organization is putting childhood obesity on the forefront of their legislative and advocacy programs. In attempt to support this, they have charged the state and local PTA's to have non-food fundraisers. Our Executive Committee has chosen several fundraisers that will promote healthy living and helping the environment which include artwork by the students, family photo sessions, seeds for sale and fashion eco-bags.
Each of our fundraising events support three programs we provide to the kids, so the more successful our fundraisers, the more we can do for the kids. In addition to fundraising events, we are promoting our local grocery store partnerships that will provide an ongoing stream of funds to use for programs such as the clinic, the school store, teacher appreciation events and the monthly birthday cake for students. Pick up your Publix cards in the office today. We are also working on programs with Kroger and Target.
One new program we are starting is through Georgia Natural Gas. The potential for income is $100 per family as follows: $40 to sign up as a new customer and $5 for each month as a customer ($60/year). Don't worry if you are already a customer, you can still sign up to support the school which will provide up to $60 a year.
