Volunteering
The Volunteer Committee works to coordinate the parent, teacher and community member volunteers to best use their skills and time on programs and events that the PTA is providing or hosting. The Chairperson of this committee is called the Volunteer Coordinator and oversees the activities of the school volunteers and represents them on the Board of Directors (Executive Committee). This year, we are initiating the Three for Me Volunteer program at Mimosa. This program asks parents, teacher and community members to promise 3 hours of their time for the entire school year to volunteer at the school. The Volunteer Committee will track the individual's time promised and time spent volunteering. Once the promised three hours are volunteered, the PTA promises to not ask those volunteers for help again. HOWEVER!!!! If a volunteer finds something that they enjoy doing and wish to continue volunteering past the promised three hours, we will be happy to accept their contribution.
